Abiola is a web series which depicts the social life of Barbadian 14 year old Abiola Noelle Adams, who has to make significant life adjustments after she is transferred from a private secondary school to a public secondary school. Abiola lives with her mother Margaret, step-father Colin and pet hamster Barkley. Margaret is a legal secretary and Colin was an office manager. After Colin is laid off, the family is forced to take Abiola out of the prestigious East Point Academy and send her to Clement Jerome Secondary School where she becomes a student of form 4D. While at Clement Jerome Secondary she befriends Amanda Russell who brings Abiola into a new circle of friends: Xavier and Shawna (who are siblings born 11 months apart) and Amanda's boyfriend Dominic (who repeated 3rd form). Story lines are told through Abiola's reflections as an adult much like the American show The Wonder Years.
